B.net

B.net provides Burgenland, the southeastern Austrian state at the frontier with Hungary, Slovakia and Slovenia, with domestic and cross-border leased lines and with the following triple play services: Internet, Cable Television and Phone.

B.net reaches more than 60 000 households via coaxial cable and provides more than 2 000 customers with broadband internet access (1024 Kbps/s up/down) via Wireless Lan (WLan). Over 100 access points for point-to-multi-point WLAN were installed in the B.net area for this purpose. More than 2 500 customers use the coaxial cable for broadband internet access and additional 40 municipalities will be connected to broadband internet by the end of this year.

B.net´s coaxial and fiber networks are upgraded and extended continuously. Redundant dark-fiber and leased-line connections between Vienna and Budapest or Bratislava are available. Inter-connections to other central and East-European countries are implemented.

B.net is a subsidiary of Burgenland´s electricity supplier BEWAG (Burgenländische Elektrizitätswerke AG) and was established after the merger between the former BEWAG subsidiaries Well.COM Datahighway Burgenland and Burgenländisches Kabelfernsehen (BKF) accomplished in July 2005.
